Voting locations redecorated, no turning a blind eye to ongoing genocide
On the Monday night before the election, four voting locations in so called “Arcata” were redecorated with graffiti and wheat paste.
This action called attention to the ongoing genocide in Gaza that both major parties are committed to supporting despite widespread opposition.
It is time that the United States government stops turning a blind eye to this issue and starts listening to the demands of the people.
Support for an ongoing genocide cannot be allowed to become normalized and accepted as business as usual. This demands direct action.
The specter of fascism has been used as a bludgeon to demand support for the democratic party no matter what, as they move further to the right on a wide range of issues.
Demanding voter support for genocide is a disgusting state of affairs that no one should be able to tune out or ignore.
When the political leadership of the United States makes continuing support for a genocide the only acceptable outcome of voting, then it is time to take action outside of the electoral system. We cannot continue to allow the facade of electoralism to divide us any longer, especially in our support of Gaza.
We need to stop looking to politicians for solutions and start looking alongside each other– to friends, neighbors, and comrades.
There is no lesser evil left to vote for. It’s not enough to switch from one track to the other when we are all tied down to the tracks. Do not expect better from the hand that twists the knife, rather know that you are entitled to fight for the liberation of yourself and all the wretched of the earth.
Ask yourself if the people of Gaza negotiate. Can they settle for less? Can we? What do I risk is the wrong question – what do they risk? This is not a call to martyrdom, to burn oneself. We extend our hands to you, to burn the facade down together.
We stand in the camp that rises up and pulls the knives out. We’re not going away.
Now you know. So what will you do?

BIPED WOLF PACK TAKES ACTION AGAINST UNPRECEDENTED LOGGING PROJECT
SOME CONTEXT:
The Plumas National Forest West Slope Project is a massive logging project of 275,000 acres, disguised as a “community protection” thinning program, weaponizing Californians’ fire-trauma for profit. Instead of investing in scientifically proven strategies such as home hardening or defensible spaces, the Forest Service is giving the logging industry a $650 million handout to actually increase wildfire risks and further the climate crisis. How? By removing up to 75% of the tree canopy including old-growth, leaving behind piles of drying slash and making the forest dryer and hotter, all while releasing over 6 million tons of CO2 in the process.
This industrial logging project bypasses environmental protections by invoking an “emergency action” authorization under the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The Biden administration is using the climate crisis to push industrial logging plans in approximately 1 million acres of public forest land, with up to 45 million acres potentially impacted by this bill. This deceitful tactic of approving ecocidal projects under the guise of of climate legislation is not new, as seen with the Mountain Valley Pipeline as well.
SOME ACTION:
It’s National Forest-Climate Action Day. We find ourselves on stolen Mountain Maidu land in the Plumas National Forest, that is home to immense biodiversity including the endangered Northern Spotted Owl and at least two wolf packs. In their honor, we choose to take action to slow down the grand logging machine, and for the greater joy of resistance in itself.
Under the light of the waning moon, our pack of two-legged wolves hits the road, inspired by tales of the Warner Creek blockade. Though the journey is frigid, we hardly notice the numbness in our fingers as we gaze at the giant trees and a sky strewn with stars, in the midst of each other’s joyous company. As we arrive to the logging road, in canine fashion, some of us gleefully prance around gathering big sticks and logs to build as many barricades as we can, while others start digging a large trench. We make good time using a variety of tactics, a favorite being getting on our hands and knees (not for the first time that night) to dig out the softer dirt with our own paws. After a long night of hard manual labor, we’re not exhausted but alight with laughter and comradery. The old growth pines and firs, our guardians, watch us make save travel back home.
SOME TIPS:
How to make your own wolf den!
Bring pickaxes, shovels, a rock bar and gloves (for paw prints). Shovel the dirt off the road downhill (but not into a creek!). Make sure your den has 90 degree edges and is deep enough to trap wheels. For extra fortification, pile downed logs and rocks at different points of the road to give your enemies a harder time. Mark your territory with caution tape to avoid distracted humans getting hurt.
SOME WOLF-CRIES:
One night of canine mischief won’t save this forest, but 100 might. This action is a call to you: find your pack and bite back, take direct action in whichever way moves you, think out of the cage, go wild and stay free. Every day is National Forest-Climate Action Day. You are who you’ve been waiting for!

_____
Aurora borealis above. Dawn breaking below. Mischievous cackles heard among the pitter-patter of nocturnal creatures roaming Wiyot lands. Graduation gifts are being dropped off across town.
Our gift finds its way to one of the off-campus graduation venues. Glue squeezes into each lock, topped off with a tick coat of dog shit. Feces covers handlebars. Old cooking oil spills on the ground. All over the entrance, red paint reads “COMPLICIT IN GENOCIDE” and “ESCALATE FOR PALESTINE”.
We leave for our next target and burst into laughter when we see the job has already been done. Beautifully. We go to another target – the same thing. And another, and another. How warm it feels to be reminded yet again that we are never alone in our revulsion for colony and war. Scattered everywhere, we see love letters to Palestine calling an end to empire.
We were one of many tonight making it known that the University cannot call masses of c0p$ to brutalize community members for protesting apartheid – and simply walk away. More CPH rebranding and fake amnesia cannot erase collective memory. As with Josiah Lawson, We will never forget.
April 22nd altered the spirit of local rebellion forever. Occupying Intifada Hall seeded an ever-growing commune; one that will long outlast any buffing, temporary closures, and riot police. The crumbling of empire – and its colonial projects like CPH – is inevitable.
Dog shit alone won’t end genocides. Obviously. These actions not only serve to keep our creativity, spirits, and morale boosted, but they necessarily serve to build our skills and mutual trust so that we can keep escalating the struggle. It is only through escalation that we will see Palestine free in our lifetimes.
To our enemies… You thought we were done and gone. You thought that begging hundreds of imported c0p$ to come save you from the scary protesters would silence and extinguish us. As if your chemical and lethal weapons, armored vehicles, psychological warfare, concrete barricades, and infinite cowardice could ever defeat the power of our friendships.
Oh, honey, as we’ve already told you: this is just the beginning.
